Final Music Video

Image
I finally finished the music video. I had a fun time making it. I wanted to choose a song that I don't think anyone else would. I also enjoyed working with this song because it's nice to listen to. The song also has its own story that I went by. It was fun adding in the clip with the sparklers, I find it aesthetically pleasing. I found it easier working alone rather than working with classmates because I didn't have to worry about other people's availability except for my actors and helpers. I think it turned out great. I showed my friends and they also think it's really good. Maybe in the future I will do it again for fun.

Completing my Music Video

Image
On Wednesday, December 3 I was in my media studies class and decided to spend time finishing editing my music video. The only thing I needed to do was add some clips and the audio. First I had to put in the audio so I could match up the clips. I had to match up the clips because one of them was me lip syncing to the song and I needed to match it with the song. I looked up a way to get the actual song onto iMovie. I had to go to a youtube downloader website, find my song, and download it as an mp3 to my desktop. It was fairly simple. Once it was on my desktop, I went to iMovie and on the audio tab it was already there so I just dragged and dropped it into the editing bar. I began listening to the audio and it was perfect, however toward the end I realized the song was from the original music video and there was extra noise that happened in the video. For example, the music paused and I could hear a car door closing then the music resumed. I just cut that version out but if I listen car

Beginning to Edit

Today, December 6, I attempted to edit my music video. I've decided to use the software iMovie. I decided to use iMovie because I have a Macbook and I have used it before. I know the basics of how to cut clips on it. I also know how to adjust the volume on the clips and how to add audio. I was unsure how to actually add the song to iMovie. I tried looking up how to add the song but I couldn't find a right answer. It required me to have iTunes and I don't have that and I don't want to pay for it. So, I used a tactic that I've used in the past, voiceover. First, I had to airdrop the videos I had on my phone to my laptop. Then I added them to iMovie. I put them in order of how they appeared on my storyboard. After that, I clicked the voiceover button and simultaneously played the song from my phone. The quality isn't perfect but you can hear it almost perfectly fine. While I was organizing the clips I realized I forgot to film a scene. I discussed with my boyfrien

Finishing Filming

Image
On Saturday December 4 I finished filming my scenes. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to film that day because the day was hectic but we got it done. In the beginning of the day I had to go to an event with my friends. Then at about 5 I gathered my "crew" to help me film which consisted of my boyfriend, my best friend, and my boyfriends cousin. It was already night time so there wasn't good light. But I told my boyfriend and bestfriend to turn on their car headlights and it made for good lighting. I had to use my boyfriends phone because mine had no more storage for more videos. My friend filmed everything and my boyfriend was an actor. I filmed the clip of his car pulling into the park. Then we filmed my boyfriend and I walking to the playground. Previously I bought sparklers as props and I brought a lighter from my house. Then we filmed my boyfriend and I swinging on the swings and going down the slide. The slide part did not go as planned, we got stuck becaus

Starting to Film

Image
The day I finished my storyboard I wanted to film, at least some shots. I asked my sister to help my film. I also asked my mom to help me film as well. They both agreed. I was able to film some shots myself with the help of my phone tripod. I filmed the shot of me getting ready. I also filmed the shot of me grabbing car keys. My sister filmed my tracking shots. My sister also filmed me in my car scene. The car scene was difficult to hold the camera still but I think the minor shakiness doesn't ruin it, it makes it have a more free feeling. I looked over the clips and I realized I did some vertically instead of horizontally so I will have to re-do them. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do all of the scenes. I have to do the scenes with my other character and at a different setting. I need to remember to wear the same costume on my next filming day. It shouldn't take long to film. However, it is difficult time-wise because it's a necessity to film at night. This problem li
