Filming Day 1 Blog

Image
Today was a day where my group and I were supposed to start filming our commercial. However, for this past week I haven't been able to attend school because I have been sick. The last time I was in class my group mates and I finished our storyboard. Today, I communicated with my group and they told me that they started the filming process. They did all of the squares on the storyboard besides one. We still need the shot of Aaron walking with the airpods in his ears listening to music. I didn't know I was going to be sick so I was planning on being one of the actors in the commercial.  I was going to be the actor that yells hey. I don't know if I will be still or not. I will possibly take a part in camera work. I can also help in editing the footage. I have some experience in the editing software iMovie. I did draw the whole story board and wrote the captions with the help of my teammates giving me some ideas. Maybe if we need to reshoot some scenes I will be able to play a

Slide 1: In this slide we are going to shoot our introduction where we show the actor opening his phone and going to play a song on his AirPods Pro. He is going to pull out his phone, unlock it, and then proceed to go to a music app to begin to play a song. The type of shot in this slide is going to be a POV shot. This is to express to the viewer the same thing the actor is seeing. Slide 2: During this slide, the main actor is beginning to walk straight forward showing off the AirPods Pro in his ears. This is to show how the AirPods are comfortable to wear and stay in your ears. The type of shot that is going to be during this scene is going to be a medium shot to show off the actor walking. During this shot the audio will match the audio that the main actor is listening to with his airpods.  Slide 3: This slide is to represent the noise cancellation feature of the AirPods Pro. So, we will have someone call the main actors name to try and get their attention but they will not be able

Props: Since our group decided to use the Airpods Pro the props that we will be using will be an iPhone and the Airpods Pro themselves. Costumes: In our commercial, we have one main character, and 2 side subjects. Our actors will wear normal/trendy clothes, they would wear items that they would wear everyday to simulate like it was just a normal day for them. The main actor will have an iPhone in hand, and an AirPod in each ear so to show them off to the viewer.  Schedule:   On 9/22/21 our group researched conventions and the background of AirPods Pro commercials. We also decided on our location list, props, costumes, backup plan, and made sure we were sticking to our schedule. We tried to get the most that we could done to make sure that on the next day of working we had enough time to get the next step done.  On 9/24/21 our group will get together to create the storyboard for our 30 second commercial. We will use this time to edit any ideas we have before filming the commercial and m

My group is doing our commercial on Airpod Pros. Typically in apple commercials there is one main character using the specific apple product. Music is used in almost every apple advertisement and comes from the apple music app (usually upbeat incidental music). There is no specific dress code, the actors wear trendy or just their normal style clothing. Apple commercials use most of the same types of cuts. Jump cuts along with upbeat music are used to create an exciting mood and get the audience pumped up. Apple commercials also use most of the same shots. Tracking shots are used and follow the main actor to show the action they can do with the product. For example: jumping, dancing. Close up shots are used either when the actor puts the airpods in his ears or takes them out. Conventions and Codes Some conventions and codes that Apple uses includes ending the commercial with the Apple logo and the apple product name that was advertised.  Another one is the main actor is typically dancin

For the commercial project I decided to have a group of 4. One team member I already knew from freshman year, his name is Aaron Shaffer. The other teammates I met this year in the class, Juan Baca and Monzur Mohosin. I sit next to all of them and during class we have talked and gotten to know each other in the free time we have. They are all very nice and I believe they will all be equal in the work. Monzur and I have mutual friends, Aaron introduced me to him. And Monzur introduced me to Juan. We all get along well. They are very easy to talk with. I think communication won't be a problem when working with them. I think working together will strengthen our friendship. I'm glad I made new friends in this class. I will most likely be the video editor or recorder. Juan will most likely be the artist of the storyboard. We will all work together on the general topic and dialogue for the commercial. Maybe Aaron and Monzur will be actors, or possibly all of us will star in it. Howev

Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I also love doing photography and videography. I have a cat that lays next to me everytime I do homework on my bed. I also enjoy playing tennis and watching football games. One film I can really appreciate is Avatar because it is so ahead of its time and it's very interesting. I also love the movie Rio for their amazing soundtrack. I decided to take AICE media studies because I like films and I wanted to see everything that goes into them. I wanted to learn why directors make certain choices when putting together the film and what certain cuts and angles are supposed to make the viewer feel.  I also heard that the teachers were very good at teaching the subject. I am excited to learn everything about the filming process as well as make my own films. I'm excited to work
