What Happens in each Scene

Image
Scene 1: The music video will start off with a fade to black of the actress putting on earbuds, then pulling up her phone to start listening to the song Stargazing by The Neighborhood. The shot will be a point of view/over the shoulder shot and a close up. The rest of the shots will be jump cuts. Scene 2: The second scene will be an extreme close up of the actress getting ready/putting on makeup. Scene 3: After that the actress will be displayed with a middle close up of her putting on her shoes. Scene 4: Then she will proceed to check the time on her phone with a point of view shot. Scene 5: The actress will grab her car keys from off the key holder and enter her car. Scene 6: This scene will show a medium shot of the actress driving to her boyfriends house, singing the lyrics to the song. Scene 7: Next the actress will exit her car to come across her boyfriend and proceed to hug him, then he will take her to his car, open the door for her, go in the car himself, then turn the car on.

How the Music Video is Going to Go

Props: My music video isn't going to be a conventional rock music video. I am going to be making a short film with a story... not just clips of people singing and playing instruments. To go through with that plan I am going to use a car. I also want to incorporate sparklers because they look like stars and that goes with the song's name. Other props will include headphones, a phone and possibly sunglasses. Costumes: The attire my actors are going to wear will most likely be darker shaded clothing to fit the rock genre normal costume. I am planning on putting on makeup as well. The setting is at the beach but it will be at night so there won't be any swimsuit wearing, most likely warm clothing because the recent weather has been on the cold side. Schedule: 11/19/21: Have the storyboard done. 11/20/21- 11/28/21: Working on filming the music video (complete it). 11/29/21: Start editing the music video. 12/5/21: Be finished editing, make finishing touches. How Rock Music Videos are made

The song I chose for the music video is Stargazing by the Neighborhood. The Neighborhood is a rock band. Common things in rock music videos include, a rebellious main character. Usually the main character is very passionate about the song. Through the use of dancing with passion or jumping up and down you can tell that the character likes the song a lot.  Many different camera techniques are used too. Typically close up shots are used to focus on the main props used. I plan on using some close ups. Wide shots are also used to show the whole setting and everything that is going on. I also plan on using wide shots. Movements and editing are used heavily. Zooms and jump cuts are used to make everything more fast pace. Jump cuts are  used when there's a story to tell, so I will be using many. Slow-mos may also be used when the song is a slower melody, sometimes to make a montage. There are 2 main narratives: the story telling one and one where its just the band performing. My music vi

My Group for the Music Video

Image
I've decided to do this project alone. I got an offer to join a group but I declined. I thought since we can't film during class or on campus it would be difficult to find times where every groupmate is available. I enjoy working alone because I get to make all the calls and I don't have to come up with a consensus with anyone but myself. However, I am planning on using my boyfriend and 2 other people to help me with either filming or being an actor in the video. Once I understood the assignment I went straight to my music library to find a song to use. I was scrolling for a while trying to find the perfect, non-explicit song. I realized I am a big fan of the band ,The Neighborhood, and went to their discography to find a song. While I was looking I came upon the song Stargazing by The Neighborhood. I was obsessed with this song a couple months ago and even watched the music video the day it came out. I put in my headphones and played the song while reading the lyrics. I w

Hello It's Me Again

Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love my cat very much. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I have a boyfriend that I have been together with for 7 months and counting. I love doing photography and videography. I also enjoy playing tennis and watching football games. One film I can really appreciate is Avatar because it is so ahead of its time and it's very interesting. I also love the movie Rio for their amazing soundtrack. I decided to take AICE media studies because I like films and I wanted to see everything that goes into them. I wanted to learn why directors make certain choices when putting together the film and what certain cuts and angles are supposed to make the viewer feel.  I also heard that the teachers were very good at teaching the subject. I am excited to learn everything about the filming process as well as make my own fi
