Completing my Music Video

 On Wednesday, December 3 I was in my media studies class and decided to spend time finishing editing my music video. The only thing I needed to do was add some clips and the audio. First I had to put in the audio so I could match up the clips. I had to match up the clips because one of them was me lip syncing to the song and I needed to match it with the song. I looked up a way to get the actual song onto iMovie. I had to go to a youtube downloader website, find my song, and download it as an mp3 to my desktop. It was fairly simple. Once it was on my desktop, I went to iMovie and on the audio tab it was already there so I just dragged and dropped it into the editing bar. I began listening to the audio and it was perfect, however toward the end I realized the song was from the original music video and there was extra noise that happened in the video. For example, the music paused and I could hear a car door closing then the music resumed. I just cut that version out but if I listen carefully I can tell when I made the cut. But overall the video is perfectly fine. I was planning on having the video be 1 minute and 15 seconds but when I finished it was 1 minute and 14 seconds. I ended up attaching a background clip at the end with the word stargazing because that's the last word you hear and that's the name of the song so I thought it was appropriate. Imovie had a background screen with stars and I got so excited because it fit perfectly. Also, to make my music video longer I filmed playing the song on my phone, it only added one more second but I thought it made the storyline smoother.  Editing was very easy for me, I was surprised. Since I had background knowledge of how to basically edit videos on iMovie I didn't have to teach myself/look up tutorials of how to work the software. I sent the finished product to my friend because she wanted to see how it came out and she loved it. I also showed my mom and she said it was very good. I had a fun time filming and editing this project, especially since it gave me an excuse to hang out with my friends.

Last Minute Filming

 Today I filmed some extra stuff for the film and some things I just forgot to film. I forgot to film the part where Avery's mother, father, and brother run to the scream that they heard. So, I filmed that. Also, I forgot to film the bit where Avery's mom calls 911. So I filmed that with a close up of her calling. Previously when I was editing I noticed my film was running short. To fix this, I filmed a part where Avery's dad shakes hands with the detective. I think I will end the film with that clip. Another way to fix this is I filmed a part where Avery walks and sits down at her desk and starts writing. Hopefully this will make my film the right size. The filming process was fairly easy. I had to make sure the set was the same. To do this I cleaned the room we filmed in. It was, however, a struggle to get my actors together. Whenever Sebastian wasn't busy Izzy was. And vice versa. Thriller for the Win

 My decision for my film is to be thriller based. Even though it's not my favorite type of movie to watch, I think it would be fun to film. My pitch is also a type to be thriller because it is a murder mystery. I didn't want it to be a comedy because I don't think I could come up with a funny script. It also wouldn't be good as a romance because someone got murdered, not engaged. I am excited to make my thriller movie. I don't think I will take the route where its super scary though. I think I am just going to make is ominous and keep the audience on their toes. I already know I am going to incorporate screaming. I am also thinking of making the lighting dark when the detective is interrogating the suspects. I also have the perfect setting for it to take place, my boyfriends house. His house is very open and has many rooms for the suspects to have alibis. Thriller involves many different shots and types of editing so I think it will be easy to complete the mandatory...

 Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I also love doing photography and videography.
