Finishing Filming

 On Saturday December 4 I finished filming my scenes. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to film that day because the day was hectic but we got it done. In the beginning of the day I had to go to an event with my friends. Then at about 5 I gathered my "crew" to help me film which consisted of my boyfriend, my best friend, and my boyfriends cousin. It was already night time so there wasn't good light. But I told my boyfriend and bestfriend to turn on their car headlights and it made for good lighting. I had to use my boyfriends phone because mine had no more storage for more videos. My friend filmed everything and my boyfriend was an actor. I filmed the clip of his car pulling into the park. Then we filmed my boyfriend and I walking to the playground. Previously I bought sparklers as props and I brought a lighter from my house. Then we filmed my boyfriend and I swinging on the swings and going down the slide. The slide part did not go as planned, we got stuck because we went at the same time so I told the cinematographer to film me going down the slide separately from my boyfriend and a clip of him going down by himself. Then we started to film the sparkler scene but it was difficult to light them up, luckily the pack came with multiple. The first take we messed up because I was talking to my friend to tell her what to do and I looked at the camera. The second take I told my friend to "look up" because she was supposed to tilt the camera up but my boyfriend looked up instead. The third take was the final one and turned out good. It was really dark outside we had to hurry filming because my friend had to be home. It took about 20 minutes to film everything. I had a fun time and I'm so excited to see the final product.

Last Minute Filming

 Today I filmed some extra stuff for the film and some things I just forgot to film. I forgot to film the part where Avery's mother, father, and brother run to the scream that they heard. So, I filmed that. Also, I forgot to film the bit where Avery's mom calls 911. So I filmed that with a close up of her calling. Previously when I was editing I noticed my film was running short. To fix this, I filmed a part where Avery's dad shakes hands with the detective. I think I will end the film with that clip. Another way to fix this is I filmed a part where Avery walks and sits down at her desk and starts writing. Hopefully this will make my film the right size. The filming process was fairly easy. I had to make sure the set was the same. To do this I cleaned the room we filmed in. It was, however, a struggle to get my actors together. Whenever Sebastian wasn't busy Izzy was. And vice versa. Thriller for the Win

 My decision for my film is to be thriller based. Even though it's not my favorite type of movie to watch, I think it would be fun to film. My pitch is also a type to be thriller because it is a murder mystery. I didn't want it to be a comedy because I don't think I could come up with a funny script. It also wouldn't be good as a romance because someone got murdered, not engaged. I am excited to make my thriller movie. I don't think I will take the route where its super scary though. I think I am just going to make is ominous and keep the audience on their toes. I already know I am going to incorporate screaming. I am also thinking of making the lighting dark when the detective is interrogating the suspects. I also have the perfect setting for it to take place, my boyfriends house. His house is very open and has many rooms for the suspects to have alibis. Thriller involves many different shots and types of editing so I think it will be easy to complete the mandatory...

 Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I also love doing photography and videography.
