Group Project Blog

 For the commercial project I decided to have a group of 4. One team member I already knew from freshman year, his name is Aaron Shaffer. The other teammates I met this year in the class, Juan Baca and Monzur Mohosin. I sit next to all of them and during class we have talked and gotten to know each other in the free time we have. They are all very nice and I believe they will all be equal in the work. Monzur and I have mutual friends, Aaron introduced me to him. And Monzur introduced me to Juan. We all get along well. They are very easy to talk with. I think communication won't be a problem when working with them. I think working together will strengthen our friendship. I'm glad I made new friends in this class. I will most likely be the video editor or recorder. Juan will most likely be the artist of the storyboard. We will all work together on the general topic and dialogue for the commercial. Maybe Aaron and Monzur will be actors, or possibly all of us will star in it. However, I am not a very good actor, but I doubt any of them are either. I hope everyone tries their best. I know for sure I am going to put in my very best effort in this project. I am interested to see how everything plays out.

Last Minute Filming

 Today I filmed some extra stuff for the film and some things I just forgot to film. I forgot to film the part where Avery's mother, father, and brother run to the scream that they heard. So, I filmed that. Also, I forgot to film the bit where Avery's mom calls 911. So I filmed that with a close up of her calling. Previously when I was editing I noticed my film was running short. To fix this, I filmed a part where Avery's dad shakes hands with the detective. I think I will end the film with that clip. Another way to fix this is I filmed a part where Avery walks and sits down at her desk and starts writing. Hopefully this will make my film the right size. The filming process was fairly easy. I had to make sure the set was the same. To do this I cleaned the room we filmed in. It was, however, a struggle to get my actors together. Whenever Sebastian wasn't busy Izzy was. And vice versa. Thriller for the Win

 My decision for my film is to be thriller based. Even though it's not my favorite type of movie to watch, I think it would be fun to film. My pitch is also a type to be thriller because it is a murder mystery. I didn't want it to be a comedy because I don't think I could come up with a funny script. It also wouldn't be good as a romance because someone got murdered, not engaged. I am excited to make my thriller movie. I don't think I will take the route where its super scary though. I think I am just going to make is ominous and keep the audience on their toes. I already know I am going to incorporate screaming. I am also thinking of making the lighting dark when the detective is interrogating the suspects. I also have the perfect setting for it to take place, my boyfriends house. His house is very open and has many rooms for the suspects to have alibis. Thriller involves many different shots and types of editing so I think it will be easy to complete the mandatory...

 Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I also love doing photography and videography. I have a cat that lays next to me everytime I do homework on my bed. I also enjoy playing tennis and watching football games. One film I can really appreciate is Avatar because it is so ahead of its time and it's very interesting. I also love the movie Rio for their amazing soundtrack.
