Starting To Edit
I started editing today. First, I had to send all of my videos to my laptop. Then from my downloads on my computer, I had to drop the files into iMovie. Next, I organized my clips in chronological order. I had to look back at my storyboard to remember the order. I noticed some of my clips were missing. I looked on my boyfriends camera roll and they were there. So, I had to spend more time getting those clips on my computer as well. Some clips were flipped horizontally instead of vertically so I just changed it on iMovie without dealing with the hassle of doing it on my phone then re-sending it. It took me about 10-15 minutes to organize everything. After that, I cut the clips. I watched every clip and cut out the parts I didn't need. Then I muted some of the clips that don't require diegetic sound. Then for the clip of the detective talking and the family listening I added the sound of the detective with the family listening. After that I did more muting and changing sounds. I added the pen writing sound I found on YouTube's audio website to the close up of Avery writing in her diary. Then I realised in the clip where Avery looks at the killer there was background noise I didn't want but I did want the noise of her gasping. To fix this, I muted the whole clip, then copy and pasted it and dragged it into the audio editing place and cut the whole thing besides the gasp. I think I need to find more sounds that were pre recorded somewhere else because I don't like the audio on my videos, they don't sound clean. I stopped there because I was tired, I am going to continue editing tomorrow.
