Choosing My Music
Today on March 9 I decided to research the music I will use in my film. A couple weeks ago I was on a roadtrip and this song came on and I really enjoyed and I liked it on Spotify. Today I was trying to get some inspiration for music on my Spotify and I found the song, Spirits In The Material World by The Police and thought it would go nicely with my film. I realized I needed to get permission to use the song so I had to do some research as to how. I found out that they belong to Universal Music Group and I saw that I could send them a License Quote Request. I filled out the form and sent it. Hopefully I will hear back soon. As a backup plan I decided to look into royalty-free music. I did some research on this a while ago when I made videos for fun. However I forgot how to do it. All I remembered is that YouTube had that type of music. So, I tried searching up YouTube royalty-free music. I found the website and it's called Audio Library. I did not find any music that I liked. However, they have a section for sound effects and I was interested to see what they had. I scrolled through every page. I found a sound effect called "Walk On Tile" and listened to it, it was perfect for my scene that shows the killer's feet walking toward Avery. I had to search up the word "writing" because I wanted to find a sound for the scene where Avery is writing in her diary. I found a perfect one called "Pen Writing". I found my research very rewarding and successful.
