My Group for the Music Video

 I've decided to do this project alone. I got an offer to join a group but I declined. I thought since we can't film during class or on campus it would be difficult to find times where every groupmate is available. I enjoy working alone because I get to make all the calls and I don't have to come up with a consensus with anyone but myself. However, I am planning on using my boyfriend and 2 other people to help me with either filming or being an actor in the video. Once I understood the assignment I went straight to my music library to find a song to use. I was scrolling for a while trying to find the perfect, non-explicit song. I realized I am a big fan of the band ,The Neighborhood, and went to their discography to find a song. While I was looking I came upon the song Stargazing by The Neighborhood. I was obsessed with this song a couple months ago and even watched the music video the day it came out. I put in my headphones and played the song while reading the lyrics. I was watching the time because the video can only be a certain length and it had a perfect pause on the 1 minute and 15 second mark. I knew this was meant to be. I was so excited I even jotted down some ideas for the scenes in my video. Ideas were rushing to my head. I was looking at the lyrics so I could match the actions to them. I was also listening to the beats and pauses because I could incorporate actions that go along with them. I drew all of my ideas down in 12 squares. I made a pre-storyboard if you will. I am so excited to see my vision come to life!

Last Minute Filming

 Today I filmed some extra stuff for the film and some things I just forgot to film. I forgot to film the part where Avery's mother, father, and brother run to the scream that they heard. So, I filmed that. Also, I forgot to film the bit where Avery's mom calls 911. So I filmed that with a close up of her calling. Previously when I was editing I noticed my film was running short. To fix this, I filmed a part where Avery's dad shakes hands with the detective. I think I will end the film with that clip. Another way to fix this is I filmed a part where Avery walks and sits down at her desk and starts writing. Hopefully this will make my film the right size. The filming process was fairly easy. I had to make sure the set was the same. To do this I cleaned the room we filmed in. It was, however, a struggle to get my actors together. Whenever Sebastian wasn't busy Izzy was. And vice versa. Thriller for the Win

 My decision for my film is to be thriller based. Even though it's not my favorite type of movie to watch, I think it would be fun to film. My pitch is also a type to be thriller because it is a murder mystery. I didn't want it to be a comedy because I don't think I could come up with a funny script. It also wouldn't be good as a romance because someone got murdered, not engaged. I am excited to make my thriller movie. I don't think I will take the route where its super scary though. I think I am just going to make is ominous and keep the audience on their toes. I already know I am going to incorporate screaming. I am also thinking of making the lighting dark when the detective is interrogating the suspects. I also have the perfect setting for it to take place, my boyfriends house. His house is very open and has many rooms for the suspects to have alibis. Thriller involves many different shots and types of editing so I think it will be easy to complete the mandatory...

 Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I also love doing photography and videography.
