Hello It's Me Again
Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love my cat very much. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I have a boyfriend that I have been together with for 7 months and counting. I love doing photography and videography. I also enjoy playing tennis and watching football games. One film I can really appreciate is Avatar because it is so ahead of its time and it's very interesting. I also love the movie Rio for their amazing soundtrack. I decided to take AICE media studies because I like films and I wanted to see everything that goes into them. I wanted to learn why directors make certain choices when putting together the film and what certain cuts and angles are supposed to make the viewer feel. I also heard that the teachers were very good at teaching the subject. I am excited to learn everything about the filming process as well as make my own films. I'm excited to work with partners and make new friends when projects are assigned. I don't think this class will be hard for me since I enjoy learning about interesting things, like film processes. I even look at youtube videos on things like how the movie Coco was made and what inspired the crew of the film, all for fun! Ever since I was in elementary school my grandpa had a filming passion and would always make videos of all of our family events. Even now he inspires me because he produces videos for his Synagogue and a news channel even after he retired as a teacher. About 4 years ago, my grandpa bought me a Macbook pro because I had told him I wanted to make daily vlogs and edit them on IMovie. Last year during the pandemic I didn't have many hobbies so making vlogs and posting on youtube felt like a fun thing to do rather than sit around all day on my phone being unproductive. I taught myself with the help of my friend how to use and edit videos on IMovie and I made quite a lot. For me, It was a fun pastime editing videos and when I saw it was an option to take an AICE class that revolves around making and editing videos I signed up for it.
