Filming Day 2 Blog

 Today I was actually present for filming our commercial. In the beginning of class we went outside to finish filming. My group caught me up on everything they did in the class periods that I was absent in. They showed me the footage they filmed. Then we communicated what we needed to film to finish the commercial. I thought they would have filmed horizontally but to my surprise they filmed vertically. So, since I wanted to help in the making of the commercial I filmed the rest of the shots. At first I filmed horizontally but they said the other shots were vertical so I had to reshoot them. It was very hot outside and we only had an hour to film because we didn't want to film while the second lunch was released. We ran into a problem with the costumes though. We realized Aaron was wearing a different shirt in the first days' shots than today. But we solved it by changing the song that he was listening to that goes with his shirt. Since he was wearing a blue shirt we thought he could be listening to a song that reminds someone of the color blue. Another group asked us if we wanted to be extras in their commercial but we declined. Then another group asked Monzur and Juan to carry a ladder for their commercial and they did. We saw the footage and it was funny. Then we walked back to class. For the last half hour of class my group and I were going over our footage. Monzur will be editing the footage. Finally, we were talking about how much fun it is to film. I enjoyed working with my group, I think I made a good choice with my teammates.

Last Minute Filming

 Today I filmed some extra stuff for the film and some things I just forgot to film. I forgot to film the part where Avery's mother, father, and brother run to the scream that they heard. So, I filmed that. Also, I forgot to film the bit where Avery's mom calls 911. So I filmed that with a close up of her calling. Previously when I was editing I noticed my film was running short. To fix this, I filmed a part where Avery's dad shakes hands with the detective. I think I will end the film with that clip. Another way to fix this is I filmed a part where Avery walks and sits down at her desk and starts writing. Hopefully this will make my film the right size. The filming process was fairly easy. I had to make sure the set was the same. To do this I cleaned the room we filmed in. It was, however, a struggle to get my actors together. Whenever Sebastian wasn't busy Izzy was. And vice versa. Thriller for the Win

 My decision for my film is to be thriller based. Even though it's not my favorite type of movie to watch, I think it would be fun to film. My pitch is also a type to be thriller because it is a murder mystery. I didn't want it to be a comedy because I don't think I could come up with a funny script. It also wouldn't be good as a romance because someone got murdered, not engaged. I am excited to make my thriller movie. I don't think I will take the route where its super scary though. I think I am just going to make is ominous and keep the audience on their toes. I already know I am going to incorporate screaming. I am also thinking of making the lighting dark when the detective is interrogating the suspects. I also have the perfect setting for it to take place, my boyfriends house. His house is very open and has many rooms for the suspects to have alibis. Thriller involves many different shots and types of editing so I think it will be easy to complete the mandatory...

 Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I also love doing photography and videography.
