Filming Day 1 Blog

 Today was a day where my group and I were supposed to start filming our commercial. However, for this past week I haven't been able to attend school because I have been sick. The last time I was in class my group mates and I finished our storyboard. Today, I communicated with my group and they told me that they started the filming process. They did all of the squares on the storyboard besides one. We still need the shot of Aaron walking with the airpods in his ears listening to music. I didn't know I was going to be sick so I was planning on being one of the actors in the commercial.  I was going to be the actor that yells hey. I don't know if I will be still or not. I will possibly take a part in camera work. I can also help in editing the footage. I have some experience in the editing software iMovie. I did draw the whole story board and wrote the captions with the help of my teammates giving me some ideas. Maybe if we need to reshoot some scenes I will be able to play a role in the commercial. I have been trying to communicate with my teammates to be in the loop with everything that happens. I also try to help anyway I can. When I work in a team I try to make everything easier for my partners. I feel bad that I haven't been able to help in the filming process. I would hate if my teammates thought I wasn't a good team player. So, when I get back to school I will do everything in my power to make our commercial is very best version possible.

Last Minute Filming

 Today I filmed some extra stuff for the film and some things I just forgot to film. I forgot to film the part where Avery's mother, father, and brother run to the scream that they heard. So, I filmed that. Also, I forgot to film the bit where Avery's mom calls 911. So I filmed that with a close up of her calling. Previously when I was editing I noticed my film was running short. To fix this, I filmed a part where Avery's dad shakes hands with the detective. I think I will end the film with that clip. Another way to fix this is I filmed a part where Avery walks and sits down at her desk and starts writing. Hopefully this will make my film the right size. The filming process was fairly easy. I had to make sure the set was the same. To do this I cleaned the room we filmed in. It was, however, a struggle to get my actors together. Whenever Sebastian wasn't busy Izzy was. And vice versa. Thriller for the Win

 My decision for my film is to be thriller based. Even though it's not my favorite type of movie to watch, I think it would be fun to film. My pitch is also a type to be thriller because it is a murder mystery. I didn't want it to be a comedy because I don't think I could come up with a funny script. It also wouldn't be good as a romance because someone got murdered, not engaged. I am excited to make my thriller movie. I don't think I will take the route where its super scary though. I think I am just going to make is ominous and keep the audience on their toes. I already know I am going to incorporate screaming. I am also thinking of making the lighting dark when the detective is interrogating the suspects. I also have the perfect setting for it to take place, my boyfriends house. His house is very open and has many rooms for the suspects to have alibis. Thriller involves many different shots and types of editing so I think it will be easy to complete the mandatory...

 Hi, my name is Ariel Pickholtz. I am 16 years old, and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I love to go thrifting, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with my friends and family in my freetime. I also love doing photography and videography.
